Using Music and Singing within Speech & Language Therapy to Improve Clients’ Communication Skills has now been published on the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust website amongst the amazing reports of other 2012 Churchill Fellows.

Music Therapy and Speech & Language Therapy

Apex Ability Limited is pleased to be establishing a partnership with Chiltern Music Therapy, a not-for-profit organisation that provides a music therapy service to people of all ages in Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Hampshire.  Following Claire's Churchill Fellowship to North America to learn about the collaboration of music therapy and speech & language therapy, Chiltern Music Therapy and Apex Ability Limited will be offering joint sessions to small groups.

AANCHAL Foundation

Claire is honoured to have been invited to join the Advisory Committee of the Association of the Awareness of Nutrition, Child Health, and Learning

The AANCHAL Foundation acknowledges that, "Every child is born special…and at AANCHAL we would like to see that every child grows into something special as well. Not all babies are born healthy, there are some that develop health issues due to known and unknown reasons as they progress through infancy. Through AANCHAL, we would like to see special needs kids laugh and play, grow and develop just like other kids. We would like for these children to smile again."

Work Your Way

Claire is honoured to have been offered the opportunity to contribute to the first edition of Work Your Way.  She has written an article inspiring parents who care for children with special needs.

The King's Speech

The King's Speech is a wonderfully inspiring movie highlighting that having a stammer need not be a limitation.

Lionel Logue was an Australian Speech Therapist based on Harley Street in London (an amusing coincidence!) who successfully coached King George VI during his war-time speeches.

Qualified professionals (i.e. Speech & Language Therapists/Speech Pathologists) are available to provide support for individuals wanting to manage their stutter.
